South Korea in huge defence deal

South Korea is looking to buy 60 advanced fighter aircraft for $3.7bn in its biggest-ever defence deal.

South Korea has formally opened the bidding for what will be the country's largest defence deal to date.

The government in Seoul is looking to spend $7.3bn (£4.7bn) to buy 60 advanced fighter aircraft.

US companies Boeing and Lockheed Martin and the European aerospace consortium EADS are all in the running.
