India attempts to open up retail

India is making fresh efforts to attract investment from international retailers after last year's attempt failed to generate much interest.

The Indian government has recently made another effort to attract investment from foreign supermarkets and department stores.

Reforms were made last year that allowed big overseas firms into the India market, but they failed to make much of an impact.
