Too many shops in town centres ?

Many towns now have "too many shops" and radical action is needed to stop high streets falling into "terminal decline", according to a report published on Friday.

The recession and people choosing to shop online are being cited for the 45,000 empty shops across Britain, with the report urging they be put to alternative use.
