Vince Cable: Public company register to tackle 'dodgy directors'
Companies will be forced to list their true owners on a public register in a bid to combat tax evasion and money-laundering, the business secretary has announced.
Vince Cable's plan follows concerns that opaque UK corporate structures can be used to channel or hide illicit funds.
He warned that the government would not "tolerate dodgy directors abusing the trust of investors and consumers".
