Philip Clarke: Tesco to launch own-brand smartphone

Tesco is to launch its first own-brand smartphone later in the year.

It follows the launch of Tesco's tablet, the Hudl, which has so far sold half a million units.

Tesco CEO, Philip Clarke, told BBC Radio 5 live's Wake Up to Money that the "Hudlphone" would be pre-installed with Tesco services.

This would include video service BlinkBox, grocery home shopping, and access to Tesco digital current account banking, also set to launch later in the year.
