Debt victims: Bankruptcy may be a 'fresh start'

More people are falling into debt because they are unable to pay essential household bills, according to the Money Advice Trust.

In further research, a BBC survey on personal debt suggested the majority of British adults in debt had not sought help with the problem.

BBC Radio 5 live Drive reporter Nick Garnett spoke to two people outside Liverpool County Court who had just declared themselves personally bankrupt.

Both said they hoped the process would be a "fresh start."
