A virtual Narendra Modi

The BBC's Simon Atkinson looks at the technology which helped the BJP's Narendra Modi be at hundreds of election rallies at the same time.

With 800 million voters and only about six weeks to reach them in the run-up to the general election, India's politicians had a hard job deciding where in the country to go, and when.

But Narendra Modi appeared to be one step ahead.

The BBC's Simon Atkinson travelled to Bangalore to see how Prime Minister Modi managed to be in lots of places at once.

This video does not make clear that the UK firm Musion, rather than Nchant3D, organised Mr Modi's "tour" for the Indian national election campaign in 2014. Also, the reporter is referring to holographic effects rather than to true holograms.
