HMRC chief executive Lin Homer grilled over HSBC inaction

HM Revenue & Customs' Lin Homer faced hostile questioning from MPs as she denied ignoring information that UK citizens hid money in HSBC bank accounts in Switzerland.

She told Public Accounts Committee chair Margaret Hodge that HMRC had been prevented by the French authorities from passing on information about the accounts, which originally came from the whistleblower Herve Falciani.
