Andy Burnham: 'Young people face a divided education system'

The number of schools in England that have chosen to become academies has doubled since the General Election last May.

Education Secretary Michael Gove said one school converted to an academy every school day since the scheme was approved.

The Shadow Education Secretary, Andy Burnham challenged the figures and said that those in education have concerns about the system becoming "more divided, competitive and elitist."
