Michael Gove: Music teachers victims of 'culture of fear'

The Education Secretary Michael Gove has criticised guidance to music teachers after they were advised not to touch pupils during music lessons.

The Musicians' Union have issued the advice which says touching pupils could expose music tutors, who often teach in one-to-one sessions, to charges of inappropriate behaviour.

Mr Gove said the advice sends out completely the wrong message and "plays to a culture of fear".
