Student funding gap warning over tuition fees

Universities could face further cuts because ministers have significantly underestimated the cost of tuition fees in England from next year.

The Commons Public accounts committee says there is a "substantial funding gap" for universities which could lead to further cuts in higher education.

Downing Street says the committee has not produced the evidence to back up its findings.
