Scottish exam results blunder 'very unfortunate'

The Scottish Qualifications Authority has apologised for a blunder which saw almost 30,000 pupils receive their Highers exam results a day early.

Chief executive Janet Brown insisted nobody was advantaged or disadvantaged as a result of the early delivery by text message.

Ms Brown told the BBC the situation was "very unfortunate... we are undertaking a very serious investigation to find out what happened".
