Teaching unions threaten autumn strikes

The two biggest teachers' unions are threatening co-ordinated strikes in the autumn in England and Wales over jobs, pensions, workload and pay.

The National Union of Teachers and the NASUWT told a media conference that the profession was "in crisis".

NUT general secretary Christine Blower said Education Secretary Michael Gove has an opportunity to discuss their concerns before they ballot members for action.
