NUT delighted plan to scrap GCSEs 'abandoned'

Education Secretary Michael Gove is expected to make a statement to MPs confirming that he is dropping his flagship proposals to introduce a new English Baccalaureate to replace GCSEs in 2015.

Christine Blower, general secretary of the National Union of Teachers, told Tony Livesey on BBC Radio 5 Live that she is "absolutely delighted".
