India's ancient university returns to life
Nalanda, in northern India, was an eminent centre of higher education long before there were any students at Oxford, Cambridge or Europe's oldest university, Bologna.
The ruins of the original college are now a popular tourist site - but there are plans to establish a modern day Nalanda University in one of India's poorest states.
