Thousands re-take GCSE English

Thousands of students are retaking their English GCSE after failing to achieve a grade C or above last summer.

New rules mean teenagers must get a good pass in English and Maths or continue to redo the tests until they are 19 years old.

Many further education colleges say they are struggling to cope with the cost and the logistics of staging the exams.

John Maguire reports.
