Parents protest over school funding

Demonstrations have taken place to urge the government to reconsider its proposed new school funding formula.

The government has announced measures for allocating funding to schools, responding to years of complaints about regional inequalities.

The Department for Education has said the current system for distributing funds across the country is "unfair", and that the new plans will see more than half of England's schools receive a cash boost.

Parents in Nantwich, Cheshire, say proposed changes to the way school funding is allocated will leave their children worse off.
