Reality check: Jobs and employment

Part of David Cameron economic pledge ahead of the general election is to create 1,000 new jobs a day if he stays in power.

That is what the coalition has done, he claims, and that adds up to just under two million new jobs.

In the West Midlands business in certain sectors is booming, but the employment figures are not as straightforward as they may at first seem, as Jon Kay explains.
