Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg pledges 'a middle way' on tax

Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg has been giving details of his party's plans to reduce the deficit.

He said there would be cuts to the welfare and Whitehall budgets, balanced by tax rises for the wealthy, and a crack down on tax avoidance.

But the Conservatives said the plans would mean higher taxes.
