Election debate: The worm's verdict

After weeks of preparation and spin, the BBC election debate is over - but how did the candidates fare?

Throughout the debate, an audience of floating voters was invited to give their instant reactions to what was said, feeding an on-screen graphic and indicating approval or rejection of each person's comments.

Ben Page of polling company Ipsos MORI explained to Reeta Chakrabarti what the 'worm' suggests about the leaders' performances.

UK viewers can watch the debate in full on the BBC iPlayer.
