Tories pledge an extra 600,000 childcare places

David Cameron has said the Conservatives will double the amount of state-subsidised childcare to 30 hours a week for three to four-year olds.

The offer from 2017, would result in more than 600,000 childcare places every year.

The Tory leader said Labour's pledge of 25 hours a week would "cost working families £830 in childcare alone".
