New Tory MP 'proved pundits wrong'

Craig Williams, newly-elected Tory MP for Cardiff North, says he is delighted to have proved pundits who predicted a swing to Labour wrong.

His Cardiff North seat, taken by Conservative Jonathan Evans at the last election, had been one of Labour's top target seats in the country, and many were predicting that it would revert to the party in a closely-fought campaign.

However Mr Williams held the seat for the Tories with an increased majority, up from just 194 in 2010 to 2,137.
