Election 2015: Labour MP sees 'deeply rooted' contempt for system
Veteran Labour MP Paul Flynn has said his party needs to win over voters disillusioned with the political system to recover from its general election defeat by the Conservatives.
The Newport West MP told the Sunday Supplement programme on BBC Radio Wales that "contempt for the political system was deeply rooted", resulting in growing support for parties such as UKIP.
Mr Flynn said he would be backing Shadow Business Secretary Chuka Umunna as the best option to lead Labour, adding that he thought Ed Miliband had been a "liability" from "day one".
