Nick Clegg: EU crime database 'devastatingly effective'

The UK could be "cut off" from an EU-wide crime and security database after Brexit, the Liberal Democrats have warned.

The party's Europe spokesperson Nick Clegg told the Today programme the database is a "devastatingly effective crime-fighting and anti-terrorism tool".

"The deputy head of the National Crime Agency called it a game changer", he said.
