SDLP's Mark Durkan loses the seat he held for 12 years

The former leader of the SDLP Mark Durkan has apologised to party stalwart John Hume for losing the Foyle seat.

The SDLP had held the constituency since it was formed in 1983.

Sinn Féin's Elisha McCallion was declared the winner after a recount by 169 votes.
