Film industry workers protest on red carpet in Rome

Hundreds of demonstrators with banners invaded the red carpet at the Rome Film Festival to protest government cuts to the film and TV industry.

Organisers were forced to scrap the red carpet ceremony with Keira Knightley, Eva Mendes and other cast members from the film 'Last Night'.

Among the actors, directors, screenwriters and other industry workers protesting was actress Valeria Golino. She said that the government was "disrespecting" the film industry. Anna Holligan reports.
