Maurice Utrillo works raise over $7m at Paris auction
An auction of paintings by French artist Maurice Utrillo raised more than $7m in Paris.
Self-taught, cursed by alcohol addiction, and detained in a mental institution, Utrillo was saved by his art and his mother, Suzanne Valadon, a model and painter herself.
Utrillo became world famous, particularly in America and Japan, for his depiction of Paris before World War One.
Stephane Mayoux reports.
