Oscars 2011 highlights

British film The King's Speech has been crowned best picture at the 83rd Academy Awards, with star Colin Firth named best actor.

Tom Hooper was named best director for the film, and its screenwriter David Seidler won best original screenplay.

The ceremony also saw Christian Bale pick up best supporting actor for The Fighter and Natalie Portman triumph in the best actress category for her role in Black Swan.
