Arts Council England cuts mean 'artists will suffer'

Hundreds of arts organisations across England have missed out on Arts Council funding, after the council's budget was cut by nearly 12% over four years in real terms.

The Red Ladder Theatre Company, a national touring company based in Leeds, has seen its Arts Council grant cut by 30%.

Producer Chris Lloyd told the BBC that because of the cuts, the volume of work will decrease and artists will suffer.
