Wagner's Ring Cycle condensed to 90 minutes
The epic four-opera Ring Cycle by Wagner has been condensed from 17 hours, usually performed over four nights, to just 90 minutes.
Wagner was known to think the work should be performed in full, in one sitting, but his grand-daughter has given her blessing to the project which hopes to introduce more people, especially a younger audience, to his work.
Steve Evans reports from Bayreuth in Bavaria.
