Shaun Ryder on struggling with shyness

Shaun Ryder has re-visited the ups and downs of his music career in his new autobiography, Twisting My Melon.

The singer, who fronted the Happy Mondays and Black Grape before forging a solo career, told BBC Breakfast he struggled as a frontman because of shyness.

Ryder, who has been described as the "greatest thing since WB Yeats", says he had a natural ability with lyrics.
