Abducted Atiya's return 'great occasion', say police

A six-year-old girl who was abducted by her father and taken to Pakistan three years ago has been reunited with her mother after arriving back in the UK.

Atiya Anjum-Wilkinson was taken from her home near Ashton-under-Lyne in Greater Manchester on her third birthday.

Det Supt Phil Owen, from Greater Manchester Police, said her arrival back home in the UK was "tremendous news" for her family.
