RA exhibition: How Australia moved its masterpieces
The National Gallery of Australia has packed some of its most important works of art for a major exhibition at London's Royal Academy.
The exhibition, which opens on 21 September, will showcase the largest survey of Australian paintings in 50 years - some of which have never been seen in the UK before.
"We know Britain will be very appreciative of so many of the masterpieces of Australia in this one big exhibition," said Director of the National Gallery of Australia, Ron Radford.
"We are feeling very proud and very honoured to be at this place where we celebrate indigenous art at this level," added Senior Advisor Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art, Franchesca Cubillo.
