At home with Naughty Boy

British Pakistani music producer Naughty Boy charts his unconventional rise to the top - with a little help from his mum and dad.

British Pakistani music producer Naughty Boy (real name Shahid Khan) wrote and produced the biggest selling album of 2012 Our Version of Events by Emeli Sande.

He has also just had a number one hit with single La La La which is the second fastest selling of 2013 and was number one in the BBC Asian Network download chart for 8 weeks.

However, his journey to the top of the UK charts was far from conventional - Khan went on Channel 4's Deal or No Deal and won £44,000 which he used to fund his recording studio.

He has now worked with everyone from Professor Green to Rihanna.

BBC Asian Network spoke to Naughty Boy at home with mum and dad in Watford and heard the unique story of his rise to the top.

Listen to The Naughty Boy Story, Sunday 18 August, 2100 BST, BBC Radio 1Xtra or Monday 19 August, 1700 BST, BBC Asian Network.
