Being older helped Greg Davies stay in comedy

Greg Davies has claimed that starting in entertainment late helped him to stay in the business.

The comedian, best known for his role as Mr Gilbert in Channel 4 sitcom The Inbetweeners, said that being older gave him a thicker skin against criticism.

The former teacher told BBC Radio 5 live's Richard Bacon: "If I'd have started that early in this awful business I wouldn't have lasted."

"As a 20 year old I was hyper sensitive and the first bit of criticism I would have run back to teaching."
