Late Charlatans drummer Jon Brookes to appear on new album

The surviving members of indie band The Charlatans have said they want to include drummer Jon Brookes on their new album by using recordings he made before his death.

Brookes had suffered a seizure on tour with the band in 2010 and had been receiving treatment for a brain tumour. He died in August this year at the age of 44.

"He has left us a lot and we can piece together a few things," the band's singer Tim Burgess told BBC Radio 5 live's Phil Williams.

"We have got one song and we think that it is fantastic," he added.
