The Cazalet Chronicles author dies

The novelist Elizabeth Jane Howard has died. She was 90 years old.

The author wrote the Cazalet Chronicles which were made into a BBC drama and sold more than a million copies.

Howard was married three times, her third marriage being with fellow poet and writer Sir Kingsley Amis.

Before her death, in an interview broadcast on Radio 4's Today programme on the 28th December 2013, Howard spoke about her work.
