Matthew McConaughey's career transformation

Actor Matthew McConaughey had to live like a hermit and lose over three stone for his role in Dallas Buyers Club.

But his portrayal of the real-life Ron Woodroof, an HIV positive Texan who is given just 30 days to live, has earned him an Oscar nomination.

Just a few years ago the actor was more associated with romantic comedy roles.

BBC Breakfast's Charlie Stayt spoke to McConaughey to find out how he transformed his career.
