Alien creator HR Giger speaks to the BBC

The Swiss artist, H.R. Giger, who designed the monster in the horror film "Alien", has died aged 74 after a fall.

Giger was best known for his xenomorph alien design in Sir Ridley's sci-fi horror masterpiece film Alien for which he won a visual effects Oscar in 1980.

Speaking to BBC Newsnight in 1981, Giger reflected on his work as an artist and explained that he painted the things that scared him.
