Painting found under early Picasso

A portrait of an unknown man has been found underneath an early Picasso painting

Advances in infrared imagery have helped art experts to uncover a portrait which has been hidden under a Pablo Picasso painting since 1901.

It was found beneath Picasso's The Blue Room and features a bow-tied man with his face resting on his hands.

Curators and conservators in the US have spent the past five years developing a clearer image of the mystery man.
