Founder of Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Peter Murray, 'excited' by museum award
The open-air Yorkshire Sculpture Park has been named the museum of the year.
Picking up the £100,000 prize, founder Peter Murray told the BBC's Tim Masters "this money will help us to continue to support young artists".
The museum of the year shortlist included the Hayward Gallery and Tate Britain in London and the Ditchling Museum of Art in East Sussex.
The winner was announced by theatre and film director Sam Mendes at the National Gallery in London on Wednesday night.
