Pacino: 'I'm backing off acting'
The Oscar-winning actor Al Pacino has said he is scaling back on his acting commitments.
In an interview on the Today programme ahead of the release of his latest films based on Oscar Wilde's controversial play Salome he admitted to feeling tired but said he was "never" announcing his retirement.
He also revealed that he "doesn't see the point" in seeing a film he stars in after it has been made, explaining "I hadn't seen the Godfather II in 20 years. By accident it was on television and I started looking at it."
"It's not the hardest thing to watch," he added.
Al Pacino will be presenting his film of the Wilde play, Salome, and the documentary he directed about the project, Wilde Salome, at the BFI Southbank on 21 September, broadcast live to cinemas around the UK.
First broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Friday 12 September.
