Wildlife Photographer: Duchess awards prize to Michael Nichols

A picture of a pride of lions snoozing in the African sunshine has won the Wildlife Photographer of the Year Award.

Michael Nichols beat more than 40,000 entrants from across the world.

He accepted his prize from the Duchess of Cambridge at the Natural History Museum during a ceremony on Tuesday night.

He spoke to BBC Breakfast.
