Royal dress has always held a fascination for members of the public - even those who otherwise have little interest in fashion.

The British royal family's costume store at Kensington Palace is a treasure trove of more than 15,000 court fashion items from the 17th century to the present day.

Curator of the costume store Deidre Murphy pulls out some treasured Georgian pieces from the collection explaining why the Hanoverians are still inspiring 21st century followers of fashion and top designers.
