Spotify: Can musicians make money on streaming sites?

Pop star Taylor Swift has removed her entire back catalogue from the online streaming service Spotify.

No explanation has been given for the decision but artists have long complained of the low royalty payments from streaming services.

Newsnight asked songwriter Helienne Lindvall, Eamonn Forde from music business site Music Ally and musician Amanda Palmer if the streaming structure is the best way for artists to share their music - and be compensated.
