Harrison Ford 'a very competent pilot'

The actor Harrison Ford is recovering in hospital after his vintage plane crash-landed on a Los Angeles golf course.

The 72-year old reported engine trouble shortly after taking off from Santa Monica airport.

Ford also happens to be a lifetime member of the Shropshire Aero Club in the UK.

The Chief Flying instructor Bob Pooler told BBC News Ford is an "very competent" pilot.
