Ryan Gosling on directorial debut and handling criticism
Ryan Gosling went from fresh-faced Disney 'mousketeer' in the 1990s to become one of Hollywood's most in-demand actors.
Now he is switching roles again - this time going behind the camera for his directorial debut, Lost River.
The film, which stars former Dr Who actor Matt Smith and Mad Men's Christina Hendricks, tells the story of an American family struggling during the economic recession.
Gosling told BBC Breakfast's Charlie Stayt what it was like giving the orders on set, instead of taking them.
