Indian MC Divine plays first UK show at Asian Network Live

Divine - an MC from the slums of Mumbai - has left his home country for the first time to play Asian Network Live.

The rapper was championed as one of presenter Yasser's top new talents for 2016 and his single - Mere Gully Mein - has been played extensively across the station.

He spoke to BBC Music about the song's genesis and the burgeoning Asian hip-hop scene.

Asian Network Live, which also features sets from Naughty Boy, Imran Khan, Zack Knight, and Kanika Kapoor, will be broadcast live on the BBC Asian Network on Saturday 30 April.

The show will also be available to watch on BBC Red Button on Sunday, 1 May, with highlights on BBC iPlayer.
