Roisin Murphy to play Shakespeare's Globe

Roisin Murphy has just announced she's taking over Shakespeare's Globe for a special, one-off performance.

It will be the first ever pop concert at the London venue and forms part of the Wonder Women festival, curated by Lauren Laverne.

The show, on 15 August, will feature tracks from Murphy's forthcoming album Take Her Up To Monto, which was written concurrently with last year's Mercury Prize-nominated Hairless Toys.

The singer spoke exclusively to BBC 6 Music's Matt Everitt about the record's creation.
