What do you do to ward off a cold?
Members of the public give their tips for fighting off the common cold as two new studies examine possible ways to combat the virus.
US researchers found that people who exercise regularly are less likely to get a cold, whilst scientists from the Medical Research Council in the UK are hoping to open up new forms of treatments after discovering that antibodies can still fight viruses once they are inside infected cells.
Until now it was thought that antibodies could only tackle infection by attacking viruses outside cells.
BBC Breakfast's resident GP, Dr Rosemary explained the findings and offered advice to help avoid catching a cold.
